Introducing the “Sew, Let’s Quilt Along”!

#sewletsqal

I am so happy to announce the launch of the latest free mystery quilt along from “Partners in Design.”

Sew, Let’s Quilt Along!

We have designed thirteen new block patterns for you, with the theme of all things sewing!

As a mystery QAL, participants will not know what the block design is until it is released. Patterns will be released every two weeks starting with Block #1 on March 12, 2019.  Patterns will be available to download for free on the each designer’s blog as they are released until the end of the QAL.

Techniques will include piecing, appliqué and a bit of hand embroidery. We encourage all levels of quilters to join.

For this QAL  there are a total of  twelve 12″ square (finished) blocks and one 18 x 24″ (finished) block, for a total of thirteen blocks.

For those of you who have quilted along in our previous two QALS, we have a new format! This time, we decided to give you more options; the blocks will be presented in three segments. As you follow along the you can make smaller projects suggested by our segment hosts or wait until the end to make a quilt top with setting suggestions from our quilt top hosts.

How can I choose my fabrics and their colors?

The neat thing about the segment format, is you can choose a different palette for each, especially if you plan to make smaller projects. Or for a quilt top, we suggest picking a limited palette if you want continuity in your quilt. But really your imagination and the sky are the limits!

For my segment fabrics, I will be using six patterns I have from the Windham Fabrics collection, First Blush by It’s Sew Emma.

And I will be pulling from my Kona solids stash.

  1. I am looking forward to this, Abbie. I have been wanting to make something around the sewing theme. There are some great fabrics that I have been eyeing!
