Barn Quilt BOM Quilt Along

Hi! My quilt blogging friend Sherry Shish of Powered by Quilting invited me to quilt along with her The Barn Quilt Block of the Month (BOM) as a host. This is a really exciting opportunity for me and of course I said Yes! and Thank you Sherry!

This is a is a six month BOM quilt along (QAL) and is a great skill builder pattern with repetition of each skill and the level is confident beginner.

The Barn Quilt BOM PDF quilt pattern includes thirty pages of step-by-step instructions and color images.  The quilt finishes at 72″x 84″. The pattern also includes instructions for 3 bonus quilts using the same blocks!

There are two options to this quilt along.  You have the option to make the full quilt or to make mini quilts with the blocks.  Sherry will be showcasing how to do either option.

My Fabric selections are from the collection “Daydreams” by Kate Spain  and for the background I am using the Bella solid “Ash”; both are from Moda Fabrics.  Additional fabric choices I will add, will be for my binding and backing.

Quilt Along Schedule:

First Wednesdays of each month there will be a newsletter and blog post from Sherry.  In the newsletter, there will be that specific month’s cutting instructions, top tips, giveaway details, and the timing for the live video for that month. As well as links to the host’s blog posts.

August 7, 2019: Kicking off the QAL!!!

September 4, 2019:  Month 1 blocks

October 2, 2019: Month 2 blocks

November 6, 2019: Month 3 blocks

December 4, 2019: Month 4 blocks

January 1, 2020: Month 5 blocks

February 5, 2020: Month 6 blocks and Quilt Top Assembly

March 4, 2020: FINISH, YAY!
